What Is Onychomycosis – Toenail Fungal Infection

Fungal toenails are extremely common. Fungi can live on the dead tissues of the hair, nails, and outer skin.  Fungal toenail infections are most often seen in adults once your immune system starts to drop. They often follow a tinia fungal infection of the feet (athletes foot). Toenails are affected more than fingernails.
